Kat Shannon is a senior public relations student in the School of Journalism and Communication at the University of Oregon. She plans to graduate in the spring of 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in public relations and a minor of business administration and communication.
Currently, Kat Shannon is a marketing and promotions intern for the University of Oregon’s Athletic Department working with all Oregon sports, and heading up her own team of fifteen interns for the UO baseball marketing and promotions.
As a student at the University of Oregon since the fall of 2008, Kat Shannon has been involved in Oregon intramural teams and with various club sports teams such as the crew and ultimate Frisbee teams. She is also currently a member of the UO chapters of the American Marketing Association and PRSSA. Participating in events and projects within those organizations, she has received hands on exposure to marketing and public relations outside of classroom work.
Ms. Shannon’s career goals are to work for a company or individual who embodies similar values to her own, and who represents the people who are working for a greater world. Her interests currently lie in non-profit along with international businesses through her extensive desire to travel.
